While not as driving and powerful as the scores Goblin provided for Argento, I think Morricone found a new excitement in getting to work outside of the confines of the spaghetti western. These are jazzy, druggy, trancey, and creepy affairs. They show elements that became common to giallo after the fact, the drones, music box melodies and whispered lullabies.
